“To the Sea” at SHIBAURA HOUSE
To my beloved Sea,
We adore you.
Let us walk towards your borderless realm,
Where all memory fragments of life’s existence on the Earth are connected.
愛する海へ、
賞賛とともに、
隔てない全ての生命の記憶が連なる海へと向かう。

“To the Sea” Exhibition at SHIBAURA HOUSE
This narrative featured Japanese confectionary, things related to it, and Acoya pearl jewelry. These various confectionaries were made by Hirado Kumaya, a Japanese confectionary shop with a 260-year-old-history on Hirado Island. Seaweeds were from Takashima Island, in Hirado and Acoya Pearl oysters were from the Koto Sea. Both of them were used in these confectionaries. Blown glasses for sweets were made by Ayato Takeda of Rurian Inc. in Nagasaki City.
The first edition of the “To the Sea” exhibition will be held at SHIBAURA HOUSE, Tokyo. You can enjoy a tea ceremony, lectures, interviews, workshops and a jewelery exhibition for three days. A set of Confectioneries of “To the Sea” and Green tea / Sake will be served during the exhibition, with additional fees. Please come and be amazed by the rich narrative of the sea!
