She is a reformer of weaving in Yonaguni. To built the Yonaguni Weaving Cooperative, she protected the Weaving in Yonaguni in 1971.

八重山の苧麻、与那国ではブーと呼ばれますが、キャラクターがあるようにも思えます。上布と呼ばれる布は、細くて白い苧麻の糸。与那国は少しラフで太い感じが見られます。その環境や、またその島の性格が表れている気もします。どちらも美しい苧麻の糸です。
