『与那国の海と織物の不思議なお話会』
糸の始まりは木の皮や草の繊維からです。それゆえ太古の昔から神聖な糸とされる苧麻、ブー。
この糸、ブーと織物そして海との不思議な関係について、工学博士の尾池博士とアーテイスト大地千登勢氏がお話します。ぜひ、小学生から大人の方どなたでもご自由にご参加ください！

“The marvelous stories between the sea of Yonaguni and weaving”
To celebrate the restoration of the manufacturing process of holy yarn, called “Boo” in Yonaguni, we invite Dr. Oike and artist Chitose as guest speakers to present special stories of between the Sea and Weaving tradition of Yonaguni. Boo is known as the first yarn of Japan that had been made from natural plants and used to be believed it had the power to protect people from evils. It’s free and open to everybody. 与那国の海の青
海はなぜ青く、美しいのでしょうか？人はなぜ海を美しいと思うのでしょうか？その秘密を解き明かすため特別に作成した万華鏡を使い、与那国の海の美しさに迫ります。
尾池 哲郎・工学博士
1998年 九州工業大学工学部卒業。2007年 新建材の開発で「ものづくり日本大賞内閣総理大臣賞」受賞。2012年 工学博士（九州工業大学）。2009年から次世代型膜分離技術「ＰＤ膜分離法」開発に参加。特許２５件。論文１５本（うち国際論文２本）。主な著作「濾過スケールアップの正しい進め方と成功事例集（共著）技術情報協会社（2014年）」。2014年にＰＤ膜分離法による社会インフラの低コスト化、水不足問題の解決をめざし、株式会社FILTOM設立、研究所長就任。

She is in continuous search of various origins of beauty around the world and then bringing them alive. Her latest project is showcasing the beauty of Yaeyama Culture in Okinawa together with Dutch artists.
